Fourth Children's Day at The National Museum of Beirut - Lebanon

“Safeguarding Heritage, Introducing La Hague Convention-Chilren’s Day at the Museum 2013”
The UNESCO Regional BUREAU in Beirut in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and the Ministry of Culture - Directorate General of Antiquities, and the N.G.O Biladi, is organizing the 2013 Children’s Day at the Museum on October 26th-27th, and on November 9th-10th, 23th -24th.

This event aims at inviting 1000 youngsters from all over Lebanon to discover the National Museum and to take part in special educational workshops on " World Heritage Sites " and how to " safeguard heritage in periods of conflict " through the application of La Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property .

Biladi has developed special educational tours and workshops for this event at the National Museum that cope with the age of the selected target group. Biladi’s highly trained guides will invite the students to take part in a three hours tour of the Museum that comprises:
• Special films and documentaries about the National Museum
• The 20 objects of the National Museum Tour
• Educational art workshops
• Safeguarding Heritage and La Hague Convention workshop
• Breakfast and a snack

It should be noted that the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut is funding this educational activity except for transportation, which has to be taken care of by the schools.
