Overview
Join Green Steps for an unforgettable sunset hike at the peaks of one of the wonders of Mount Lebanon, Laklouk – Akoura area, overlooking the surrounding villages and beautiful sceneries, followed by a bonfire at an outdoor resort in Laklouk, with rural food.

What to Expect
We’ll start our walk from Akoura – Al Hosn, crossing its beautiful rocks and peaks that are unique in their presence and their sculpture, till we reach the sunset point where we are going to have our break there, enjoying the wonderful colorful landscapes and sceneries created by the sunset. The trail will overlook the villages of Qartaba, Akoura, Afqa, Jabal Moussa and the agricultural lakes of the region.
It’s a beautiful trail for photography lovers and for the hikers that enjoy hiking on the top mountains with a panoramic view.

The trail is of medium level, suitable for families and children

Total Circuit length: 8 Kms
Altitude: 1550 m to 1650 m
Slope variation: 100 m
Effective hiking time: 2.5 hrs

The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist at a moderate rate.

Our hike will be followed by a bonfire under the starry sky, at an outdoor resort in Laklouk, to have a bite of rural food and drinks.


Important Information
• General knowledge contest and quiz with a valuable prize for the participants
• Needs for the hike: hiking or walking shoes, windbreaker, hiking stick, backpack, water bottle of 1.5 liter min, camera, meal (dry fruits, energy bars, and sandwich), ID card, insurance card, smiley face and full energy.
• The tour will be provided by a comfortable air-conditioned bus, reservation required.
• Contribution: 70’000 LBP/adult , 60'000 LBP/student between 12-17 y.old, 40’000 LBP/child 7 y.-11 y., covering guides, transportation, bonfire, food and drinks as described below (please bring the exact amount).
• The rural dinner will include a live saj station, grilled potatoes, green salad with feta cheese & pasta, open soft drinks and beer.
• Meeting time and place : at 4h00 pm from Zalka – near l’abeille d’or – PLEASE BE ON TIME
• Return time : around 12h30 am


N.B.:
- Cancellations without prior notice of 24 hours require a payment of 50% of the full contribution
- A minimum of 15 persons is required for the trip to be feasible
- Hikers are requested to book their places, the latest Thursday
- Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility
- Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
- Smoking is not allowed during the hike
- In case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program

Information about the region
Laklouk is a mountainous area in the Jbeil District of Mount Lebanon Governorate, that is divided between 5 different villages, Aaqoura, Tannourine, Ehmej, Mazra'it Al Souyyad and Arab Al Laklouk. The village of Akoura is located in the district of Jbeil, Mount Lebanon, 68 Km away from Beirut and covering an area of 15.78 Km2. The origin of the name is Assyrian, meaning the cold spring. The history of this great village goes back to the Roman era. With its vertiginous cliffs, proud rocks and basins of water, Akoura offers a breathtaking and spectacular view.
