ABOUT THE REGION
SALZBURG is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps and divided by the Salzach River. Salzburg meaning “Salt Fortress” is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, known for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Baroque old town, and also for being the backdrop of the world-wide film hit "The Sound of Music" … The UNESCO World Heritage city has an unforgettable panorama: Fortress Hohensalzburg and the spires of Salzburg’s 50 churches rise up along the river. The city’s cultural life is rich with classical music at the center.

INNSBRUCK, CAPITAL OF THE ALPS. City adventures and mountain encounters. New heights and special experiences. Cultural treasures and natural wonders. Alpine-urban, sporty, dynamic and cosmopolitan yet charming, strong and traditional – Innsbruck is a city with exceptional appeal.
Experience the real Tyrol in a place where the Alps are close enough to touch. An exceptional setting where city, culture and nature come together to delight anyone who wants to explore, enjoy and be inspired.

HALLSTATT is a Fairy Tale village. Its lakeside view may be the Alps’ most famous panorama. It is part of the Dachstein / Salzkammergut Cultural Landscape, one of the World Heritage Sites in Austria. Hallstatt is known for its production of salt, dating back to prehistoric times. You have to admire the steeple of the Evangelical Church reflected in peaceful Hallstättersee lake. Beyond the picturesque setting, Hallstatt offers all the charms of an Austrian mountain village complete with wood-gabled houses lining the cobblestone square. Hallstatt has been awarded the UNESCO title "historic cultural landscape Hallstatt-Dachstein / Salzkammergut" and declared a World Heritage Site.

Dachstein-Salzkammergut, the peaks of the mountains seem to kiss the surfaces of the lakes in the UNESCO world heritage region Dachstein-Hallstatt. The Dachstein-Salzkammergut region is rich in natural beauty, but it has much more to offer: culture and ancient traditions, hiking, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, a unique experience for all senses.

Spa resort of the Imperial family, holiday resort and cultural hotspot: BAD ISCHL is a town widely known as the summer residence of the emperor in Imperial Austria with a long and proud history. The contrast of old and new, tradition and progress makes the former summer resort of the Austrian royal family a unique experience, which is hard to describe with words or even pictures. To truly feel the charm and hospitality of this picturesque alpine town in Austria, however, it is essential to go there in person.

The SALZKAMMERGUT region in Austria - also affectionately called “Austria’s Lake District” - extends from the beautiful lakes Fuschlsee, Wolfgangsee and Mondsee in the west to the Almtal Valley in the east. The ten diverse regions of the Salzkammergut region combine tradition and modernity, mountains and lakes, lush forests and picturesque alpine towns.

Lake WOLFGANG is one of the charming lakes of the region. There is much to discover and explore at the shores of Lake Wolfgang: sports and leisure time facilities, hiking trails and cultural venues. The charming alpine towns of St. Wolfgang, Strobl and St. Gilgen invite visitors to linger or indulge in a lake cruise or a train ride on the cog railway to the peak of Schafberg Mountain.

ST GILGEN, A stroll through this elegant village on the northern shore of Lake Wolfgangsee reveals a village idyll coupled with chic, fashionable Flair. It is the village of the mother of Mozart.

Blue skies, green meadows and majestic mountains: just a few words capture perfectly the true essence of the Bavarian Alps. BERCHTESGADEN is a beautiful German town in the Bavarian Alps on the Austrian border. South of town, Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest retreat. It is located in the south district of Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria, near the border with Austria, some 30 km south of Salzburg. There you’ll find the Salzbergwerk Berchtesgaden that illuminates the salt mine’s 500-year history.
