About the Camp

After two years of successful boot camps, FAPA is launching its third Digital Camp:
Discover Lebanon Through Visuals

After attracting a large number of ‘campers’ from Lebanon and abroad, we realized that our young talents need to discover Lebanon, and transmit their visions into visuals. So we thought: why not mix fun, discovering, and learning in one useful camp?
Children will perform a variety of exciting and engaging activities including photography, filmmaking, acting, photo/ video editing, movie making, and socializing. All this will take place on our campus in Zalka, Starbucks Bldg.

Basic Photography:

This practical course is aimed to give the chance for our students to learn how to use a small format digital camera. They will be introduced to the camera’s manual and will get to know the potential of their camera. By the end of the course, they will be able to identify the components of the camera and technical terms related to it. Frames, angles, composition, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, depth of field… will be explained.

Conceptual Photography:

Students will learn how to see without a camera! A camera does not matter! It is true that the impact of a photograph depends on the subject matter, the composition, and the light, but, these things can be captured by any camera. By the end of the course, students will have learned how to take better photos even with their cell phones.

Photojournalism:

This course helps the students translate everyday life into ‘real’ images.
With the right techniques, one shot may reveal a lot about a single instant in a person’s life.
Photojournalism allows the photographer to seize the opportunity and get in direct contact with people and the diverse societies they belong to.

Photo editing:

This course aims to familiarize the students with the interface and the keyboard shortcuts of the most used tools. This course will also teach all the techniques needed to enhance, edit, color-correct, and re-touch photos. Throughout this course, students will learn the tools needed to be more efficient in photo-editing skills and to increase the flexibility and quality of their artwork.

Video editing:

This course is aimed at video editing. Students will learn how to edit their own videos in order to produce a short movie or music video. They will learn real-time video and audio editing tools that will give them precise control over virtually every aspect of their video production.

Filmmaking:

Our Summer Film Camps are the perfect place to let our student's imaginations run wild. We will guide them as they take their thoughts and ideas to the screen. We will provide valuable tools and insight to help our students translate their dreams into vivid stories in moving pictures. This is a one-of-a-kind experience, and we are thrilled to be able to see what ideas our students come up with and help make it a reality on screen!

Acting:

Young ladies and gentlemen who love acting will improve their on-camera auditioning techniques for film and television. Acting helps instill confidence and gives teens an outlet for creativity, and offers them a medium for social interaction; we make sure to give this to our students. Students will work with the latest sides of the film, video clips, episodic, and commercials. They will write and star in their own original short film or in their friend’s film.

Landscape Photography:

The landscape photography course helps students enhance their photography skills and move those skills up to a higher level in one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon and ensure they spend a good time. This leading course teaches students how to apply all of the basic photography skills they learned in order to experiment landscape photography.

Music Video:

Music and movie making combine for a week of awesome fun! Students will choose their favorite songs and work on choreographing and directing their own karaoke-style music videos.
