The Women's League invites you to its "Annual Garden Party" at Marquand House. The program includes a Brazilian dance performance and Pakistani flute performance. All are welcome.

More about the performances:

Passos Alegres aims at expanding the presence of Afro-Brazilian culture in the region. It was recently established to teach and perform Capoeira Regional, Afro-Brazilian Dance, and traditional samba music played by percussion groups known as Batucadas. The students of the Filhos de Bimba in Lebanon, who have been learning Capoeira for the past three years, will be performing a Brazilian art that combines fight, dance, and music also known as Capoeira. They will also present you with their most recent project Segundo Bloco: a percussion band that was created in October 2011.

Haider Rahman is a Pakistani musician and current band member of the band Laal. He plays the bansuri (flute) for the band. He also sometimes lends his voice for backup vocals. He is recognized all over Pakistan because of his being a shagird of the legendary Pakistani flute player Akmal Qadri and the famous north Indian classical musician Hariprasad Chaurasia.
