My Heart Beats for Dabké

Time to stomp your feet and lift your spirit on National Dabke Day!
Join us at Jabalna Dabke Festival on September 1st in Maasser El Chouf Village.
The Festival is the only event dedicated to our national dance. JABALNA Association is celebrating its Fifth Edition under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
Our aim is to make of that date, International Dabke Day.

“Legend has it that when villagers were tamping the roofs of their ancient houses, men would beat in unison and create a rhythm that gave them strength. They called it Dabke.”

Program:
• “3ALA DAL3OUNA أجمل رقصة دلعونا” Encourage your favorite dancing troupe as they compete from all regions of Lebanon.
• Professional Lebanese troupes will present Dabke shows from all over the country.
• An Armenian troupe will present Armenian, Georgian and Russian shows.
• Learn Dabke, and have your Kids pick up the steps in the kids’ Village.
• Taste the local mountain cuisine prepared by the finest women cooks from all surrounding villages.
• Buy the Homemade “Mouneh” all done with natural products.
• Stroll through the region’s artisans fair and discover their work.
• Take advantage of free shuttles to visit the MAASSER EL CHOUF CEDAR FOREST.
• New! Live fusion bands will perform during the day and for the closing ceremony.
JABALNA set up transportation from Starco & Dammour to Maasser el Chouf and back, every hour to avoid traffic and pollution. This is part of our policy to be a sustainable and an environmental event.

Dabke is joy. It’s in our blood. Together, we come as one, joining hands, freeing our spirit and dancing to the rhythm of our history, to the beat of earth.
