Nepal , officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked sovereign state in South Asia, located in the Himalayas and bordered to the north by the People's Republic of China, and to the south, east, and west by the Republic of India. It covers an area of 147,181 square kilometers, with a population of approximately 27 million. Kathmandu is the nation's capital and the country's largest metropolis. Kathmandu Valley itself has an estimated population of 5 million.

Nepal has eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest, called Sagarmatha in Nepali and has more than 240 peaks of over 6,096 m. This mountainous country has the highest percentage of Hindu followers than any other nation. Buddhism, though a minority faith in the country, is linked historically with Nepal.

A monarchy throughout most of its history, Nepal became a republic when the first President of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, was sworn in on July 23, 2008.

Everest CHOMOLUNGMA in Tibetan mother Goddess of the earth, is the highest mountain in the world, the region has sweeping glaciers, magnificent mountains, forests, animals, birds and Monasteries.

From October 19th until November 2nd, BLUE CARROT ADVENTURES and I-HIKE are organizing a trip to the magic land of Nepal. We will learn about the history of Nepal, mingle with locals, and enjoy hiking under the highest mountains of the Blue planet.

The program will be as follow:

October 18: meet at BIA for our flight to Katmandu, evening arrive to Katmandu. Meet and assist at the airport, transfer to the hotel.

October 19: guided city tour of Kathmandu. We will visit the Kathmandu Durbar (Palace) Square, Hanumandhoka, temple of living goddess, Kastamandap temple (the temple made from wood of single tree), Temple of Taleju, Kal Bhairab temple, temple of Akash Bhairab and tour continue to Swayambhunath stupa (one of the world’s biggest Buddhist stupa). This afternoon visit Pashupatinath temple (the temple of Hindus), Boudhanath stupa.

October 20 Kathmandu -Lukla -Phakding (3-4hrs).
Early transfer to domestic terminal of Tribhuwan international airport in Kathmandu for our flight to Lukla. Meet and assist upon arrival to Lukla. Our journey to Phakding will start after meeting our porters and fixing our luggage and backpacks. We will start at the altitude of 2827m up to Mushe and Chaunrikharka at 2680m to Chaplung then drops to Ghat at 2550m and then up again to Phakding at 2650m.

October 21 Phakding to Namche (6-7hrs). Early departure to Namche Bazaar, the Everest Capital at 3440m of Altitude. We will leave Phakding at 2650 and climb to Benker at 2700m then Chomoa, with the curious Hatogo Lodge run by a resident Japanese gentleman and then Monjo before dropping down to cross the Dudhkoshi. On the other side of the river, we go up to Jorsalle at 2850m and then up to Namche Bazaar at 3440m.

October 22 Namche Bazzar- acclimatization day

October 23 Namche-Tyangboche. Early departure from Namche up to Tyangboche at 3870m where we will visit a famous colored monastery.

October 24, Tyangboche-Dingboche: Early departure from Tyanboche to Dingboche passing by Deboche, Milinggo and Pangboche . After Pangboche we cross over 4000 m. we need around three from Pangboche to Dingboche.

October 25, Dingboche-Lobuche: Today we will hike from Dingboche to Lobuche crossing Thok-la (4830m) one of the highest pass of the trip. (La means pass in Tibetan).

October 26, Lobuche -Gorakchep-Kalapather-Gorakchep:
Wake up at 3:00 AM to climb Kalapather (the black rock ) at 5545m. This Peak offers the best view of Everest, Pumori, Nuptse and many more summits of the Himalayas.

October 27, Gorkchep-EBC-Thukla: Early morning departure to the Everest Base Camp (5364) where you can see the glacier, the ice fall and the camping site.

October 28, Thokla-Tyangboche: Today our journey follows Lobuche Khola ( river ) to Phariche and continues toward Samso and Tyangboche

October 29, Tangboche to Khumjung (5-6hrs). Today’s journey take us down to Imja Khola. On arrival to Khumjung, we will have the chance to visit a Sherpa village and meet these Tibetan immigrants who are the reason of the success of all expeditions to Mt. Everest.

October 30, Khumjung to Phakding : Today our journey to Phakding will take us by the villages of Syangboche, Namche and Jorsalle.

October 31, Phakding-Lukla: Take an easy hike toward Lukla. This will be our last Hiking day. We will reach Lukla where we will have free time until the evening to enjoy a well deserved farewell dinner with our trekking crews.

November 1, Lukla to Kathmandu: Early morning flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Free for the rest of the day.

November 2 Kathmandu: Early morning take a tour of Bhaktpur including Durbar Square, temple of 55 windows, the lion gate, the golden gate, temple of Nyatapola, and potters village.

Afternoon transfer to the Airport for our flight back to Beirut.
