The Institute for Women's Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) has established the 'Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance' (GDHA) Diploma in conjunction with the Continuing Education Program (CEP) at the Lebanese American University (LAU), and the Human Rights Education Associates (HREA).

The GDHA program will address the different dimensions gender issues can take in relation to development and humanitarian assistance in the Arab world and beyond. The diploma will meet an identified need for capacity building and individual specialists working for regional, national, and international agencies in the Arab world and beyond. The program will provide sector professionals with the theoretical understanding and practical skills required to fill a crucial demand in the field. Participants will not only graduate with the essential knowledge they need to make a real change in society but also with the skills needed to implement the knowledge they acquire.

The CEP certificate in Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance is a participatory learning model, which offers group activities, workshops, strategies and exposure to experts in the field. It is intended for researchers, volunteers, mid-career professionals, students, international and national non-profit organizations, private companies, and government bodies, all of which have the responsibility to uphold their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Deadline for registration is on January 2nd, 2016.
