WHAT IS HOME WORKS?

A Forum on Cultural Practices is a multidisciplinary platform that takes place in Beirut every 2-3 years. Launched by Ashkal Alwan in 2002, Home Works has evolved into one of the most vibrant platforms for contemporary cultural practices in the Arab region and internationally.

Artists, curators, writers and thinkers gather for ten days to share their works, which take the form of exhibitions, lectures, panels, screenings and publications, as well as theatre, dance and music performances.

WHEN IS IT TAKING PLACE?

Now in its sixth edition, Home Works 6 is taking place in Beirut from 14th – 26th May 2013. The forum is curated by Christine Tohme and includes lectures, screenings, publications and performances—as well as the exhibition program curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh and the X-Apartments project produced by Matthias Lilienthal with the participants of Ashkal Alwan's Home Workspace Program 2012–13.

The Home Works 6 events will take place in different spots across Beirut: Ashkal Alwan’s Home Workspace, Beirut Art Center, Metropolis Empire Sofil, Babel Theatre, Al Madina Theatre (Association for Arts & Culture), 98weeks, Artheum.

Home Works is open to all and free of charge.
