Let’s Snowshoe in the White Laqlouq with GREEN STEPS

- Trail details : level 5 - 9 kms - 1700 m to 1850 m – 3.5 hrs
- Contribution: 50’000 LBP/adult, 40'000 LBP/student between 12-17 y.old, 35’000 LBP/child below 11 y., covering program, guides, snowshoes rental and transportation, excluding food and drinks (Please bring the exact amount).
- For a group of 6 persons, one voucher of regular hiking is offered.
- Reservation: Friday 18.01.2019 is the last day for Reservation.
- RESERVATION IS REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BOOK YOUR SNOWSHOES.
- In case of bad weather condition, this event will be postponed.

OVERVIEW
Join GREEN STEPS on Sunday 20th of January 2019 for a snowshoeing experience in of the wonders of Laqlouq. We’ll end our day with an afternoon stop at a local café to sip a hot drink before going back home.

It’s a wonderful place with its rocks that are unique in their presence and their sculpture. We’ll be hiking over the peaks of Laqlouq passing through beautiful agricultural lakes, overlooking the villages of the area, with wonderful landscapes and sceneries.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A unique winter experience. Enjoy the simplicity of nature and leave your tracks in the snow.
Experience the magic of the snow and leave your everyday cares further behind with every step.
This gentle sport is for everyone, relaxation and enjoyment are guaranteed.

The journey will start with a breakfast stop on our way.
We’ll start our walk from the terrace of Laqlouq, crossing its beautiful rocks and peaks, passing by beautiful agricultural lakes. It’s a beautiful trail for photography lovers and for the hikers who enjoy hiking on the top mountains with a panoramic view.

We’ll enjoy our lunch on the white carpet of the nature.
And we’ll end our day at a local café to sip a hot drink before going back home.

Our snowshoeing walk is of level 5
• Total Circuit length: 9 kms
• Altitude: 1700-1850 m
• Slope variation: 150 m
• Effective hiking time: 3.5 hrs
• The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist, at a moderate rate.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• General knowledge contest and quiz with a valuable prize for the participants
• Needs for the hike: waterproof shoes, nylon bags for your shoes, rain coat (puncho), waterproof clothes, gaiters, backpack, water bottle of 1 liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, gloves, windbreaker, additional socks, camera, meal (dry fruits, fruits, sandwich), ID card, insurance card, smiley face and full energy.
• The tour will be provided by a comfortable air-conditioned bus, reservation required.
• Contribution: 50’000 LBP/adult, 40'000 LBP/student between 12-17 y. old, 35’000 LBP/child below 11 y., covering program, guides, snowshoes rental and transportation, excluding food and drinks (Please bring the exact amount).
• For a group of 6 persons, one voucher of regular hiking is offered.
• Meeting time and place: at 8h00 am – Zalka, near L’Abeille d’Or – PLEASE BE ON TIME
• Return time : around 05h30 pm.

N.B.:
- Cancellations without prior notice of 24 hours require a payment of 50% of the full contribution
- A minimum of 15 persons is required for the trip to be feasible
- Hikers are requested to book their places, the latest Friday
- Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility
- Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
- Smoking is not allowed during the hike
- In case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program
- No pets are allowed

INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION
Laqlouq is a mountainous area in the Jbeil District of Mount Lebanon Governorate, that is divided between 5 different villages, Aaqoura, Tannourine, Ehmej, Mazra'it Al Souyyad and Arab Al Laqlouq. It is located 69 kilometers northeast of Beirut. Laqlouq has an average elevation of 1,780 meters above sea level and a total land area of 210 hectares.
