Come and experience the pleasant moments of hiking along a trail into the rock of a cliff overlooking the entire plain of Bisri and Awwaly river. Breathtaking views to be remembered forever. We can find there Tabsoun (طبسون), it is the Lebanese name of the ‘’Rock Hyrax’’, a small furry brown animal, unique in its morphology and social life.
Awwali River is located between Mount Lebanon and the South; Bisri River is a part of it. Our walk at the top of the cliff is just amazing. The scenery will definitely mark our minds and souls with its colorful, fresh, and beautiful nature all day long.

We will walk in a loop trail around the village; we will see very old olive trees. We will cross many landmarks; the most famous one is Maabour El Chwar and will go across a Phoenician passage of striking beauty inside the cliff. Then we will go to Mazraet El Daher, the beautiful village.
HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous
Mazraet El Daher is a wonderful place for hiking; our hike will be divided into 2 levels:
LEVEL 4 (approx.7km) it is a downhill and straight stunning trail. Starting from Dahr Mechteh at 760 meters elevation, we will experience the fascinating Lebanese wild nature with its colorful trees and herbs, chirping birds and fresh breeze. The scenery is really beyond description. We will have enough time for meditation, photo shooting and fun. Then, the lunch at the pine forest. Next, we will continue to the village.
Level 5 (approx.13 km) The extra part of that trail is downhill at the beginning, requires good physical strength. The view we get to see from the valley is beyond imagination. Will take a trail between the old olives trees that leads to Roman Tombs. We will pass by springs, wells and cross many bridges. We will have lunch together at the village, rest a bit and then continue up to the Cross.
On our way back to Beirut, will stop for a visit to Sidon to see the historical ruins of Eshmoun, where the air is fragrant with blossoms. This Phoenician Temple complex, dedicated to the healing god Eshmoun, the building was begun at the end of the 7th century B.C. and later additional constructions were added in the following centuries. Roman period colonnade, mosaics, and the foundations of a Byzantine Church are also found there. We can also see Phoenician writing carved in the rock. Eshmoun is special. It will be a nice experience!
