RUBBLE. Nabil Abou Hamad opening

April 28 - May 21, 2016

Nabil Abou Hamad spent his Beirut years as part of a society of contemporary Lebanese artists. He counted artists Paul Guiragossian and Rafiq Sharaf to be among his closest friends, from both of whom he learnt a lot artistically.
He eventually moved to London in 1977 where he was appointed art director for the then leading Lebanese news magazine Al Hawadeth, a post he held for twenty five years.

Nabil now resides in London, where he is part of the London art scene and the Portobello Art Group and is an annual participant in the Notting Hill Visual Arts Festival.

‘Rubble’ also means layers of history. The destruction of methods and rules in this show, gives me the freedom to develop new forms. The layers of the many civilizations and histories also helped me to give layers of meaning and ideas to the content of these paintings.
