Mount Sannine is a mountain in the Mount Lebanon range. Its highest point is 2,628 m above sea level and can be seen easily from any point of the coast. Mount Sannine, which has a base of limestone, is the source of many mountain springs.

Baskinta is a Lebanese village situated at an altitude ranging from 1250 meters above sea level at its lowest point, to 1800 meters at Qanat Bakish. Baskinta is renowned for its natural beauty and moderate climate. It is the birthplace of Mikhail Naime. Baskinta is becoming a cycling spot for mountain biking amateurs with plenty of technical off road trails and a developed cycling community. It was also the capital city of the Syriac Christian state of Marada and was known as “The Wisdom House”. Baskinta is also known for the variety of its fruit especially apples and vineyards.
We will go visit the tomb of Mikhail Naimy. He is a Lebanese Poet, Novelist and Philosopher (1889 – 1988). Major figure of modern Arabic literature and co-founder, along with Khalil Gibran, Amin Rihani, and others, of the literary society in New York know as Al-Rabita Al-Qalamiya (The Pen League).

There will be two levels of difficulty.
Although both levels will be walking the same area, low level around 5KM (2hours), the harder level about 7KM (3 hours) will take the steeper hills and the longer path. The harder level will reach the top to the summit, where views of the whole region can be seen.

Both levels will meet for lunch at a lovely small white Monastery hidden in the heart of the massif; there you can take lots of nice pictures.

On the way back, we will head to Khinchara for wine tasting and visit Deir Mar Youhanna where “Al-Shamas Abdullah Zakher” founded the first Arabic printing press in Lebanon in 1734. It operated from 1734 till1899. Optional entrance to the Museum 3,000 LL. The monastery is very old and historical; it is beautifully built, with ancient vaults and arches. You can also buy homemade food products and homemade wine.
The hidden treasures and beauty of Lebanon are yet to be unveiled.
