Samastithi … Finding Sama, Evenness & Oneness.. Finding Stithi, Focus & Stillness

In this workshop, we will explore what we call the “Blueprint” posture; Samastithi, or what is also called Tadasana.
Samastithi is the foundation for all the postures, this neutral standing position is about finding a balance between rooting and lengthening, strength and relaxation, effort and ease.
In the Vedas, the feet are referred to as “organs of action.” They are the body’s foundation, structured to support its weight and provide a mobile platform in a variety of terrains. A weak foundation in the feet can create problems in the legs, knees, hips, back, shoulders and neck, leading to muscle tension, postural imbalances, and fatigue. Samastithi teaches stability, mobility, lightness and balance.
In Samatithi we will learn to discover our feet and how to distribute our weight evenly and uniformly, and from there we start to bring awareness to balancing the spinal curves exploring other postures like standing poses, arm balance and inversions.
Samastithi is about learning to stand authentically on our two feet to find freedom, to uncover and reveal who we are and to empower and express who we are.
We will delve into understanding the Universal Principals that apply to all Yoga Practices; Breath, Roots and Core, learning to use the intelligence of the body to evolve in our asana practice.
