Snowshoeing Experience at Tannourine Cedars Reserve

- Meeting point : Nahr el Mott – near Wooden Bakery
- Activities: Snowshoeing activity in Tannourine nature reserve
- Trail details : level 4 – 6 kms - 1800 m to 1700 m – 3 hrs
- Contribution: 50’000 LBP/adult, 40'000 LBP/student below 18 y.old, covering program, guides, snowshoes rental, entrance to the reserve and transportation, excluding food and drinks (Please bring the exact amount).
- For a group of 6 persons, one voucher of regular hiking is offered.
- Reservation: Friday 10.01.2020 is the last day for Reservation.
- RESERVATION IS REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BOOK YOUR SNOWSHOES.
- In case of bad weather condition, this event will be postponed.

Join Green Steps on Sunday 12.01.2020 for a snowshoeing experience at Tannourine Cedars Reserve walking through its white trails and trees, and admiring the stunning mountainous landscape, covered in white.


WHAT TO EXPECT
A unique winter experience. Enjoy the simplicity of nature and leave your tracks in the snow.
Experience the magic of the snow and leave your everyday cares further behind with every step.
This gentle sport is for everyone, relaxation and enjoyment are guaranteed.

The journey will start with a breakfast stop in Jbeil.

Our snowshoeing walk is of level 4, suitable for adults and children:

• Total Circuit length: 6 kms
• Altitude: 1800-1700 m
• Slope variation: 150 m
• Effective hiking time: 3 hrs
• The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist, at a moderate rate.

We’ll enjoy our lunch on the white carpet of the nature.

On our way back, we’ll have a coffee break/hot drink in a cozy coffee shop at Douma village.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• General knowledge contest and quiz with a valuable prize for the participants
• Needs for the hike: waterproof shoes, nylon bags for your shoes, rain coat (puncho), waterproof clothes, gaiters, backpack, water bottle of 1 liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, gloves, windbreaker, additional socks, camera, meal (dry fruits, fruits, sandwich), ID card, insurance card, smiley face and full energy.
• The tour will be provided by a comfortable air-conditioned bus, reservation required.
• Contribution: 50’000 LBP/adult, 40'000 LBP/student below 18 y. old covering program, guides, snowshoes rental, entrance to the reserve and transportation, excluding food and drinks (Please bring the exact amount).
• For a group of 6 persons, one voucher of regular hiking is offered.
• Meeting time and place: at 8h00 am – Nahr el Mott, near Wooden Bakery – PLEASE BE ON TIME
• Return time : around 05h30 pm.

N.B.:
- Cancellations without prior notice of 24 hours require a payment of 50% of the full contribution
- A minimum of 15 persons is required for the trip to be feasible
- Hikers are requested to book their places, the latest Friday
- Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility
- Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
- Smoking is not allowed during the hike
- In case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program
- No pets are allowed
- For GREEN STEPS card holders, you can benefit from 20% discount on hiking and outdoor equipment from PRO SHOP – SALEWA.
- DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER CONDITION, THE EVENT MIGHT BE POSTPONED TO ANOTHER DATE.

Tannourine is a village located in Batroun District is around 75 kms away from Beirut.
The Tannourine Cedars Forest Nature Reserve is one of the largest and densest cedar forests in Lebanon. Eighty percent of the trees in the forest are cedars.
