Day 1: ‘’ L’étoile des cèdres’’ Arz Tannourine : one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon.
Get ready for a night full of wonder with the USJ Astronomy Club!
We will leave the meeting point at 16.30 Pm Dora. After reaching the location,we will pitch our tents, put the luggage, have some rest. Those who want can watch the sunset in this particular area that offers amazing views.
We will spend the night there, enjoy a clear sky full of stars and end the night by a cozy gathering around the campfire to have dinner of roasted potatoes, corn… and boiled tea. Of course there will be a snack near us where you can by homemade mankoushe.
Together we will leave our home planet and launch into an adventure taking us from our neighboring planets to far reaches of the Universe.

The plan:
20h - 21h: Meeting our Neighbors: Telescope observations of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn
20h35: Passing of the International Space Station (unconfirmed), what is the ISS and why can we sometimes see it
21h - 22h: A tour of the stars and constellations: The story of our night sky
22h - 23h: Astronomy Talk: A Voyage into the Vastness of the Universe
23h - 00h: Astronomy and Astrology, facts vs myth and the origins of the two colliding fields
00h - 01h: Free wanderings, our guides are available for your questions
Then return to Beirut by bus how chooses the Stargazing event only.

Day 2: Arz Tannourine - "Fantastic forest of majestic cedar trees”
Next day, we will enjoy a traditional homemade breakfast, make a small tour in the area of Arz Tannourine, solar observation through our solar filter, then wait the other group to come from Beirut and start our hiking together in a trail full of Cedars. The amazing scenery that your eyes catch upon reaching these amazing landscapes is indescribable.

HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous
LEVEL 4 (5 KM) is an easy and wonderful trail. The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. You will be able to see rare types of flowers particular to this high altitude terrain. The scenery is just great. We will have our lunch under Ayoub Tree.
LEVEL 5 (about 10 km) is harder and suitable for professionals only. It consists of ascending trails that requires good physical competencies. You will meet with level 4 for lunch under Ayoub Tree. You will have minimal time for rest and photo sessions.

After lunch everyone will go to visit an old Crusade church and “Deir Wata Houb” built in 1749 from funds offered as gifts by Christians and Muslims

You can't buy happiness! But you can buy a Tent.
