Nepal , officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked sovereign state in South Asia, located in the Himalayas and bordered to the north by the People's Republic of China, and to the south, east, and west by the Republic of India. It covers an area of 147,181 square kilometers, with a population of approximately 27 million. Kathmandu is the nation's capital and the country's largest metropolis. Kathmandu Valley itself has an estimated population of 5 million.

Nepal has eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest, called Sagarmatha in Nepali and has more than 240 peaks of over 6,096 m. This mountainous country has the highest percentage of Hindu followers than any other nation. Buddhism, though a minority faith in the country, is linked historically with Nepal.

A monarchy throughout most of its history, Nepal became a republic when the first President of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, was sworn in on July 23, 2008.

From October 16th until October 26th, BLUE CARROT ADVENTURES and I-HIKE are organizing a trip to the magic land of Nepal. We will learn about the history of Nepal, mingle with locals, and enjoy hiking under the highest mountains of the Blue planet.

The program will be as follow:

October 16: 12:00 meeting outside Beirut International Airport for flight GF 910 to Bahrain.

October 17: 8:10 AM arrival to Katmandu international Airport
10:00: Guided city tour of Kathmandu. We will visit the Kathmandu Durbar (Palace) Square, Hanumandhoka, temple of living goddess, Kastamandap temple (the temple made from wood of single tree), Temple of Taleju, Kal Bhairab temple, temple of Akash Bhairab and tour continue to Swayambhunath stupa (one of the world’s biggest Buddhist stupa). This afternoon visit Pashupatinath temple (the temple of Hindus), Boudhanath stupa.

October 18: Kathmandu-Pokhara: Today travel west to Pokhara.
The 6 hours scenic drive gives you spectacular and breathtaking views en-route. Enjoy lunch in Pokhara at one of the best restaurant in lakeside. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this beautiful city and lakeside.

October 19: Trekking day 1:, Pokhara-Ulleri: after a two hours drive during which we will enjoy spectacular views of the towering great Himalayas on your right and amazing landscapes on your left, we will reach Nayapool from where we will start our 4 days trek. The journey follows along the Modi River to north and cross the river in Birethanti and turn to the left along the Burungdi River till Tikhedunga. we will enjoy have lunch in Tikhedhunga. And proceed to Ulleri after crossing Burundi River.

October 20: Trekking day 2: Ulleri-Ghorepani: after breakfast, we will start our five hours climbing journey through the green forest to the Ghorepani where we will enjoy a well deserved lunch. The rest of the day free at leisure for go around for spectacular view of Mt Dhaulagiri, Niligiri, Annapurna or climb to Poon hill tower to view sunset view over the Annapurna Himalayas ranges.

October 21:Trekking day 3 Ghorepani-Ghandruk: Early start for those wishing to view the spectacular sunrise over Annapurna Himalayas range. Refresh with morning tea or coffee on the top of Poon hill and return to Ghorepani. After breakfast start today’s journey through the forest and meadowland. You will see the giant Annapurna Himalayas on your left and green forests on your right. You will enjoy your lunch in the middle of forest. Take a close view of Annapurna South from Ghandruk and other towering mountains.

October 22: Trekking day 4 Ghandruk-Pokhara: after breakfast leave Ghandrung to Nayapul. Steeply down for an hour to Syauli bazaar and proceed toward to Nayapul where we will meet our bus which will take us to Pokhara.

October 23: Pokhara: free day in Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal with approximately 250,000 inhabitants. The wonderful city surrounds a great lake which reflects the 8000 m summits surrounding the town.

October 24:, Pokhara-Kathmandu: Drive to Kathmandu.
Tonight is our final get-together and we enjoy a special dinner with Nepalese dance and wine. Overnight at hotel.

October 25. Early morning take a tour of Bhaktpur including Durbar Square, temple of 55 windows, the lion gate, the golden gate, temple of Nyatapola, and potters village.

October 26, Depart Kathmandu: 5:30 AM transfer to airport. 08:55 take off to BAH
